Here are the 3 most important eco-friendly considerations I suggest you pay attention to when designing your baby’s nursery

As a new mother, I’ve become even more passionate about healthy eco-friendly interiors, more specifically nurseries.  As parents, we make sure and apply every known safety measure to the nursery.  For example, we avoid crib bumpers, locate the crib away from windows and we over-engineer/secure all hanging mobiles that we place above the crib!

But what about our homes and our indoor air quality?

Our indoor air (what we breathe in all day) has the same effect on our health as the food we put into out body.

Did you know the air quality in our homes is on average 10 times worse than that of the outdoors?  The main reason is that most of the furniture on the market and interior finishes, like paint and flooring, emit chemicals.  These chemicals off gas into the air we breathe.   Consider this; chemicals released from paints are among the 2^nd greatest air pollutant after automobiles.

I don’t mean to scare you, it’s just that once I learned how toxic paints and furniture’s can be, it sent me on a mission to find easy healthy solutions.  So, please remember that designing an Eco-friendly, healthy nursery does not have to be all or nothing.  Every little bit helps.
